Jet Lag

Thanks to jet lag the girls woke up very early this morning.  Miriam was up at 3am and she made enough noise to wake Miranda up by 3:45am.  They were willing to play upstairs so at least I was able to stay in bed and get a little sleep until 5:30.  Miriam wanted to play outside and I had to explain that it was dark outside and everyone else in the neighborhood was still sleeping.  Jet lag and time zone differences are challenging concepts to explain to a four year old.

Today was a great play day.  Miriam pulled out many, many toys as she tried each one.  Her favorites seem to be the toy kitchen and the dolls. We played outside after lunch and the trampoline was a big hit.  Miriam is quite good on the trampoline - she jumps very high and likes to do somersaults.

Both Miranda and Miriam took very long naps this afternoon and I had to wake them up for dinner. Hopefully, their internal clocks will soon adjust.

The big trauma of today was the cat.  Miriam is very scared of the cat.  When Miriam first saw the cat the cat was lying down and Miriam was happy to look at her.  Later the cat went in Miriam's room and she did not like that at all!  For the rest of the day, Miriam wanted to be carried if she was anywhere near the cat.  Hopefully, she'll warm up to the cat in a few days.
