Today we returned to downtown Cape Town for Thandokuhle's follow up doctor’s
visit. Our trip went much smoother than
on Wednesday and we did not make any wrong turns or get stuck in rush hour
traffic. We even found an empty space in
the parking garage right beside the elevator! So, the day was much more
enjoyable for most of us.
Unfortunately, Thandokuhle’s day was not quite as pleasant.
She is woefully behind on her vaccinations and needed to have quite a few
before we can travel home. They did have
some of the medicines combined into a single shot but she still had to have 3
shots. Thandokuhle became very upset as
soon as the doctor got out the needles.
In the end the doctor bribed her with lollipops and that proved to be
fairly effective.
The doctor’s appointment was in the late morning so we ate
lunch outside at the harbor. Thandokuhle
loves watching boats so our lunch was quite extended as she excitedly pointed
out every tour boat, dinghy, and row boat that went by. We also saw seals swimming in the harbor which
was quite fun. Here’s the view from near

After lunch Miranda and I rode the large Ferris Wheel that
is at the waterfront. It gave a great
view of the harbor, the surrounding city, and Table Mountain
Thandokuhle was quite tired in the afternoon and had a low
grade fever from the shots so we made it an early day. However, she perked up
by the time we arrived home and other than sore arms seemed no worse for the
wear.
